Discovery Mission Specialists Stephanie Wilson and Naoko Yamazaki used the space station robotic arm to lift the Leonardo Multi-Purpose Logistics Module (MPLM) from the shuttle payload bay at 11:21 p.m. EDT Wednesday and attach it to the Earth-facing side of the International Space Station’s Harmony node at 12:24 a.m. Thursday. It will take several hours for Mission Specialist Clay Anderson and Expedition 23 Flight Engineer Soichi Noguchi to prepare Leonardo’s hatch for opening, expected to occur at 8:01 a.m.
